About Franck Gérard
Franck Gérard is a "hunter of reality" who tracks down the originality of everyday life with humor and kindness, and places the human being at the heart of his work. As he wanders through public spaces, the photographer captures snapshots of life, comical or atypical situations that renew the walker's vision of his environment.
Franck Gérard was born in Poitiers in 1972, and is a graduate of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Nantes. He presented his work at the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie d'Arles in 2010, at the Centre Georges Pompidou-Metz in 2009 and at the Château des ducs de Bretagne in 2008.
In 2013, his work was the subject of a public commission from the French Ministry of Culture and Communication - Centre national des arts plastiques - CNAP, entitled "Manifester En l'état" and carried out in Marseille. In 2012, for the Nuit Blanche in Paris, he produced a 7-hour "performed" conference (7pm - 2am), En l'état, User les images, Hémicycle du Palais d'Iéna, CESE. His work has also been presented at Lieu Unique, Nantes, Domaine de Kerguéhennec, Morbihan, Fondation d'entreprise Ricard, Paris, Centre Georges Pompidou-Metz.
