Yann Thoreau's works depict figures and characters at different scales. Like the imposing Clément and the Félicien series, framing and scale change to create a striking contrast. He works mainly in charcoal, graphite and tempera. For him, the preparation of tempera constitutes a veritable ritual prior to creation. In this technique, the artist finds a dialogue with drawing and painting.
